Spazio Di Paolo is an Italian creative agency specialized in communication for the international food and beverage market.

The packaging project of the Azienda Agricola Ausonia was inspired by the presence of the “Ausonia”, a species of butterfly symbolizing extreme environmental quality which can be found in large numbers on the farm despite being somewhat rare in the rest of Italy. In harmony with the company’s biodynamic developments, the marketing was developed on the evocative qualities of the butterflies.

The reference target is the consumer who is looking for ethically correct products made with a respect for nature using natural working techniques. The marketing strategy for this line of products has the aim of creating a strong coordinated identity in all the wines of the company. This is done by entrusting the recognizability of the winery to the butterflies and the same basic graphic lay out for all the products. The same position, the same ratio of white and the same size for the various butterflies, which, as well as being identified by their names, are also recognizable by the different working processes chosen, from the gold embossing on the DOCG to the debossing on the three base wines of the company.

The project developed for the Azienda Agricola Ausonia received numerous awards at the 2012 edition of Vinitaly in the 17th International Packaging Competition: the “Etichetta d’Oro” for the DOC Abruzzo wine Pecorino “Machaon” 2011 in the still white wine category; the “Etichetta d’Oro for the DOC cerasuolo wine “Apollo” 2011 in the still rosé wine category; the “Etichetta di Bronzo for the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo wine “Apollo” 2011 in the still white wine category; the company also received the special prize “Packaging 2012” for the wine category.
