Anahola Granola’s founder created her first homemade batch of granola on the island of Kauai in the late 1980s. Her product soon became a local favorite and sales spread from high end resorts and boutique shops to the shelves of Costco in Hawai’i and the west coast of mainland US.

With goals to increase brand recognition beyond the Aloha State, without losing its origins, Anahola Granola came to CRP to re-design their packaging. Before long, the conversation shifted to a full brand refresh. CRP worked closely with the Anahola team to develop an updated brand identity, which features a new hand-carved stamp of the company’s namesake mountain range and a fresh typeface for the wordmark. The color palette was infused with bright tones inspired by the beautiful sunsets, natural fruits, flowers, and landscapes of Hawai’i. With that work complete, CRP then redesigned the company’s packaging, which use patterns inspired by the natural ingredients and traditional Hawai’ian quilts to differentiate each product line.

The result of this process culminates in an elevated shelf presence that conveys a refreshed island vibe that stays true to Anahola Granola’s homegrown, handcrafted roots.
