Apinya is a world-inspired, Thai-infused chili sauce maker in Virginia. They wanted their brand and packaging to reflect a strong Thai connection, starting with prominent Thai alphabet use, vivid colors, and “maximal” design. Apsara did extensive background research on Thai culture and packaging and ended up with an extensive brand set developed around a playful octopus character representing world cuisine. The octopus carries the prominent ingredients for each flavor in his tentacles and is even shown with a mouthful of the sauce.
Apinya's sauces are all totally original, so the packaging had to be as well. The bottle design we chose was custom manufactured, so there is no other hot sauce on the shelf like it. It's 3 fl oz larger than standard 5 fl oz hot sauce bottles, and squeezable with a bottom cap so you don't have to vigorously shake it to get the sauce out. We used clear labels with white and digital inks to highlight the color and texture of the sauces, plus red foil to make the name pop. The cap safety label uses holographic foil paper.
