The Bulgarian Treasure wine label – an epic project

We started the Bulgarian Treasure wine label project late in the autumn of 2014. There were a lot of discussions from the very beginning and we all knew it was going to be a real challenge. The idea behind this wine is that it’s actually not just wine, it’s a real treasure – a cultural and historical blend between two of the most significant symbols of Bulgaria. One is the wine made from Bulgaria’s famous Mavrud variety and the other is the Panagyurishte Gold Treasure – probably the biggest one found on the territory of Bulgaria. Behind all these stand our Thracian predecessors with the legends about their amazing wines and unbelievable skills and talent to create stunning pieces of art made of pure gold. Their glory lives on in present days – we still drink premium Mavrud wines and we still enjoy their art and culture implemented in every single detail of their gold treasures. The Bulgarian Treasure project is the focus point of all these stories and facts which make all Bulgarians feel proud of their past.

Every part of the project is closely related with our history – the wine grapes are from the iconic Bulgarian variety Mavrud, the wine is created in the region where the Panagyurishte Treasure was found, the label is made with native Thracian ornaments and the gold coin placed at the center of it features one of the most beautiful elements of the Panagyurishte Treasure – a Golden Deer head Rhyton. This is the short story – the long one dates back from III-IV century B.C. and goes through the time till now.
