Mayicha is a traditional, high quality pu-erh tea product from Thailand. My client let me completely unleash my creativity on this project. I had a chance to look for the best material and aesthetics to visually portray the Mayicha philosophy. Traditionally, the tea is a ritual that accompanies a certain way of life, custom or belief and my aim was to represent this part of the tea ceremony, using modern visual techniques. The main materials are bamboo, frosted glass and recycled paper. An important part of the packaging is its re-usability and multipurpose of each element. A bamboo tea lid can be used as a tea tray after you remove the tea. A tea silk cloth can be used as the tea towel. A tea container made of frosted glass can be used as a tea cup.
