SITUATION
Mead liquors have a strong historical background. They are traditional, if not ancient, and not too popular nowadays. Typical design in the category has an old-school feel to it. The product is often excessively decorated or comes in a special bottle.

The client wanted to enter the category filled with souvenir packaging, without having to create a special bottle.

TASK
Create a brand logo for a series of honey based liquors, and a label for Mead Nectar, the first drink in the series.

We came up with a goal to create a more modern, yet ornamental look. It should appeal to both, older buyers looking for traditional thing, and younger ones in search of a visually pleasing drink to try out.

The new design, the first under Honey Legends brand, would be created for an existing bottle.

SOLUTION
The logo for Honey Legends was created to resemble an ancient wax seal, from the times when mead was an expensive drink, highly regarded by noblemen.

For the label, a monogram was chosen to convey historicity and splendour. Letters M and N were combined for Mead Nectar. The result is a symbol that is both, modern and highly decorative. In the future, newly introduced drinks would have their own monograms.

What's Unique?
Color and shape of the label evoke a feeling of ancient scripts. Yellowish paper and various effects including foil, tactile UV varnish and embossing give the label premium look and make it stand out in this highly decorative category.
