Olive oil packaging design.

The oil mill ‘La Unión’ is a traditional brand from the olive oil cooperative society ‘Unioliva’ in Úbeda (Jaén, Spain) which belongs to the group DCOOP.

This brand has became established among souvenir shops and gourmet products after its new design, offering to the tourists visiting Úbeda an excellent liquid gold.

This brand had gone out of fashion from the aesthetic point of view and it looked a bit old although its elements to the target market were right. Our brief was to maintain its most iconic Úbeda symbol in the brand image, El Salvador Holy Chapel. After studying and analysing the brand idea, we concluded that this chapel was full of iconic elements we could use as an inspiration without having to use the façade again. So we started to investigate in the interior and we found an obvious element, full of visual strength and rather representative, the High Altar tiled floor, in black and white marble. We designed a restrained bottle similar to the façade columns, in black dye and white serigraphy. The brand is also in its white label with black printing. This way the brand still conveys its origin. It is in its packaging design, together with the magic architecture in El Salvador Holy Chapel.
