The Beautiful Legend of Sun Moon Lake
There is a beautiful legend about the name of Sun Moon Lake. There is a big lake in Nantou County, Taiwan, where two evil dragons live. One day, they jumped up and each bit the sun and moon down. The dragons are swimming around in the lake, playing with the sun and the moon. They only wanted to be fun, but they didn’t expect the world to be dark.

A local couple of tea farmers, Daijan and Shuishe, are determined to recapture the sun and moon by killing the evil dragons. After discussing with the compatriots, the two set off to find the sun and the moon. After traversing the mountains and the mountains, after a long journey, the two came to a big lake and saw two giant dragons playing with the sun and the moon. Daijan and Shuishe were startled and scared, but they didn’t know how to take it Back to the sun and moon. Fortunately, the two quietly sneaked into the cave where the dragon lived, and heard the dragon talk, knowing that the dragon was most afraid of the gold axe and gold scissors buried on Ali Mountain.

Therefore, Daijan and Shuishe went to Ali Mountain to dig out a gold axe and gold scissors, and then returned to the side of the lake. Daijan wielded the gold axe and chop the dragons, and Shuishe also waved gold scissors cut off the dragon’s head. The two dragons were dead, but the sun and moon were still in the pool.

Dajian and Shuishe took off the eyes of the dragons and swallowed them, the two became giants, so they picked up the sun and moon in the pool and put them back to heaven and earth Revitalized.

From then on, this big lake where the sun and moon fell was called “Sun Moon Lake”, and the couple also became Daijan and Shuishe Mountain, standing by the lake forever.
