Rempah Nusantara is an Indonesian company that sells a wide variety of Indonesia’s native cooking ready-to-eat spices. In Indonesia, ‘Rempah’ means spices and ‘Nusantara’ means islands. As a brand, Rempah Nusantara embraces the authenticity of Indonesia through traditional food into instant spices to convey the message that everyone can cook.

Because this company sells Indonesia’s traditional dishes spices, I want to bring my country’s culture into the packaging. Besides batik, Indonesia is popular for its wood carvings too. It can be found in many places like sculptures, windows, doors, and chairs. Thus, I interpret the wood carvings design to the packaging to maintain the authenticity of Indonesia.

What’s Unique?
The shape of the box is inspired by the traditional house of Java called Joglo. Joglo is a type of traditional house of the Javanese and the word ‘Joglo’ refers to the shape of the roof. To maintain the authenticity, I interpret the roof to my packaging design.
