Kingdom & Sparrow were asked by the Rebel Brewing Company to design a new beer brand and ad campaign for their latest creation Surfbum IPA, a summer session beer to take on the competitive Cornish ale market and appeal to the influx of holidaymakers as well as the local population.

The design focuses on Cornish surf: cold, refreshing and social. The pen and ink illustrated scene depicts wet-suited surfers anticipating the next set of waves. The design ‘cheekily’ plays with the name Surfbum, both representing the most dedicated of surfers, whilst drawing the eye to our hero’s derriere. We wanted Surfbum IPA to sit comfortably amongst The Rebel Brewing Co’s Classic Range, yet could confidently stand alone as a speciality seasonal brew.
