Arktika Ice Cream is my student project. The task was to create packaging for a product using references to a suitable theme. I was inspired by vintage soviet aesthetics. The USSR was famous for its ice cream, it provokes nostalgic associations and warm childhood memories in many people. I tried to avoid too straightforward associations and symbols, instead I used soviet style typography and vintage prints which then turned into shapes reminding a little of soviet modernist architecture. The overall concept has been developed across two variants so the project resulted in two series: a premium one from folded silver cardboard and a simpler one using paper and foil. I’ve also created POS materials to promote the product.
