The Tea Bar was created as a Promotional Gift Pack for Twinings, inspired by their rich history. As the loose leaf tea products are least purchased in most countries, I felt it important to create awareness as well as increase the purchase and consumption of these specific products. Twinning is a luxury brand, and therefore not an inexpensive one, people aren’t likely to spend money on products they haven’t tried. The Tea Bar seduces the consumer to buy the product, either for themselves or as a gift, as it lends itself to being more than tea, it is an experience as well as a keepsake and still worth while regardless of the tea.

The Tea Bar consists of 9 Loose Leaf Teas in airtight traditional plug tins, true to the Twinings original tins in 1703. It has a drawer containing a tea strainer, a scoop, a pen and a booklet about each tea as well as space to write about your own blends. I saw tea blending as an opportunity for Twinings, as it is becoming a big trend among different age groups.

The main colours are black and gold, which not only communicates the quality of the product, but is distinguishing to the Twinings brand. In order to reflect and capture the mood of the range, each tea has it’s own representative colour. The Tea Bar’s shape reflects 300 years worth of tea caddy evolution, with a feature from each era. The patterns draw from floral fabrics used by the upper class in the 1700’s, as they were the only ones who could afford to buy tea.
