Branding and packaging design by Magnetic Stories for the Mueller – a unique and stunning wine from the southern Palatinate in Germany.

While having a walk through the vineyards near Birkweiler, a crucial question emerged for the passionate wine lovers of Bande Vier to eliminate a long prevailing cliché: “What can the Müller-Thurgau in Palatine accomplish today?” There are only a few white grapes which dominate the Palatinate wine universe. Many wine consumers mainly ask for Riesling, Burgundy or Silvan. But what has happened to the ancient, unloved grapevines? For the Gault Millau, Mathias Wolf is one of the most highly praised young German winemakers. He invested all his knowledge and skills into the Mueller.

The attitude, of questioning everything ever done before and start completely new in front of an absolutely white sheet of paper, gave Magnetic Stories the initial impetus to conceptualize the packaging design for the Mueller. We rapidly realized that the label had to stay white exactly for that reason. A few subtle applied refinements reflect and making the quality and distinctiveness of that wine perceptible. This lead to a limited edition of only 1,000 bottles of a unique and courageous new wine.
