Design Statement
To design packaging for Instant Drink Mix Powders to reduce spillage and to ensure that the same amount of powder is poured each time.

Problem Areas

  • Spillage while pouring
  • Difficulty to reseal
  • Not travel friendly
  • No indication of exact amount to use
  • Powder sticking to the wet spoon

Tang comes in multiple flavours and are all meant to be stand alone products. I decided that a new product category could be introduced that has a slightly different focus aiming at portability, ease of use and the ability to customise your drink.

Tang Blend was inspired from the popular candy called Nerds made by Wonka. It’s a hard candy that typically comes in a box with two flavours that go along well with each other. You can choose to have a single flavour at a time or mix both together and have it that way.

What’s Unique?
Inspired from traditional drink tabs, Tang tabs have been divided into four quarters. It still requires one tab (four quarters) to make a single glass. This does provides a great amount of scope for customising your drink if you wish to, precisely 256 combinations.
