Matcha Culture brings the finest tea, matcha, straight from the farmlands of Kyoto, Japan. The challenge was to create and manufacture packaging for a new product being launched in India, a market that is just seeing the rise of Matcha. We drew inspiration from the very essence of matcha – color, texture and heritage.

There are three different grades of matcha – premium, ceremonial and culinary. The illustrations remain the same on each of the grades but the backgrounds differ. The background color and texture of both premium and culinary grade are a different shade of green, each representative of the tea’s color.

The tea is packaged in a matte gold airtight tin can with the Matcha Culture logo embossed on the lid.

What’s Unique?
The packaging is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. The matte gold tin and the gold print on the label set a luxurious tone as the design distinguishes each of the three grades. The essence of the product is communicated through the background color, texture and illustrations.
