Marquise Bake Shop is a unique wedding cake sampling experience that can be later shared with guests and recreated one year later after the wedding. With millennials growing up and altering previous traditions society has placed on couples, it is important to rethink the traditional wedding cake and the process it takes to find the perfect cake and how to serve it to guests. There are a variety of desserts that have replaced the accustomed wedding cake, yet I believe there is something significant about having a wedding cake on a couple’s special day.

Choosing a cake flavor can be a tough decision and it’s hard to find time in one’s schedule for sampling. This lead me to the idea to create an experience that is fun and simple when searching for the perfect cake. To take the stress off of the soon to be couple, I created a brand and packaging for wedding cake sampling to be delivered to their doorstep. Accompanying packages include a sample package for guests at the wedding reception and a one year anniversary box package for the top tier of the cake.

Once the couple decides on one to three flavors they like, they get to share that experience with their guests at the reception when the guests open their sample boxes for dessert, and the couple can recreate their first sampling experience one year after the wedding. I wanted to create a tier system packaging that was elegant, delicate and user friendly.

What’s Unique?
Marquise Bake Shop is a three part process that starts by delivery a sample box of wedding cake to the soon to be married couple, providing the guests with sample boxes to choose cake from at the reception, and providing a box for the top of the wedding cake to be shared for the couples one year anniversary. In tandem with this three part system, there is a logo system that matches. The logo I created slightly varies with each step of the process; a floral embellishment is added to the logo resembling the growth of the relationship.
