THE CLIENT
Tamra Kelly-Washington is one of New Zealand’s leading wine makers. She has experience as a wine maker in the Napa Valley, Hunter Valley and Margaret River, before joining the Calatrasi Group as head winemaker to oversee properties in Sicily, Puglia and Tunisia. Following her stint as a flying winemaker in Italy, Tamra returned to New Zealand to join Yealands Estate in the Awatere Valley as chief winemaker, a position she held for nearly a decade. In 2018 we were approached by Tamra and her partner Simon Kelly to develop the identity for their new self-titled wine label, Kelly Washington.

THE PROJECT
Kelly Washington seek the most unique and diverse parcels of high quality fruit, which translate into their elegant and honest wines. We designed a signature style logo as a tribute to founder’s name. Elegant secondary typography has been combined with a bold colour palette to compliment the wine varieties. In addition to the branding and packaging design, we created a comprehensive set of brand guidelines to sustain future presentations, online advertising and the creation of new labels as the product offering expands.
