Mood of the Day is a series of colourful soaps put together in a special package by “The Cool Projects” a natural soap & handmade artefacts workshop based on the island of Aegina, Greece.

Our goal is to bring consumers close to natural oil-based products through design (and words). Our first series, created in 2017, was based on the different daily moods of a character, as the “mood of the day” phrase implies.

For our second series, presented here, we wanted to create a white box that acts as a canvas for moods, colours and fragrances that appear almost as a surprise. It is a cool gift box. What you get is either a box of three soaps of the same scent (a variety of 6 soaps with lemon, honey, rose, lavender, jasmine or aloe) or a box of all six soaps together. The “moods” relate to the soap scent, thus the packaging designs are related to.

From our previous series, where little girls appear to hold/hug their moods, we kept the hand element, though in this occasion it works more as “offering”, choosing in this way to emphasise the product as a gift. The hole in the box allows one to see the colour of the soap and also smell it. The constant use of the white paper on the outer box creates a contrast with the colours of the soaps in it.
