Steinn was in need of a logo and packaging design for its luxury homeware products. STEINN (stands for stone in Icelandic) is a unique homeware brand designed and made only in Iceland. Inspired by Icelandic volcanoes, the logo design uses the letter N from the name to represent the mountains. The design of this packaging embraces negative spaces and calming textures, colours to emphasise the serenity and calmness.

One of the constraints for this project was to create a packaging that is environmentally friendly and recyclable. Therefore the concept of this packaging centres around reusability, adding design features like coaster lid to encourage second use of the packaging. Overall, the design for this brand aims to celebrate the beauty of raw nature from its origin.

What’s Unique?
This packaging design is made entirely of wood and is 100% recyclable. It has been designed with materials to promote a sense of comfort and relaxations that comes with using the product and also to last longer for a second use of the packaging. When flipped upside down, the lid of the packaging can also become a tea coaster for the product. In addition to that, special printing like Spot Uv and white Ink has been used on blue matte paper for subtle textures. Not only protecting the product, but this packaging also aims to provide a unique experience that is the core of the brand –“bringing Iceland to you”.
