The legendary Glenfiddich Distillery first opened its doors in 1887. Founded by William Grant, whose aim was to create the “best dram in the valley”, the Glenfiddich brand quickly became one of the most beloved in the Scotch whisky world.

Along with its traditional whiskies, Glenfiddich is known for its inventive limited edition creations, the latest of which is Grand Cru: a 23-year-old single malt finished in French cuvée casks. This one-of-a-kind whisky, which is rich with the champagne flavours of lemon and freshly baked brioche, comes in a GPA Luxury pack boasting some truly sumptuous features.

We began by creating the structure: a super-premium rigid board box with a rotating central compartment. We crafted this from premium greyboard to ensure strength and create a smooth and even finish. We then wrapped the box in bespoke soft-touch paper, dyed a deep black.

The front of the pack is embellished with a striking spray of gold and silver, evocative of an overflowing champagne bottle. The front panel also boasts the Glenfiddich Grand Cru branding, which has been foiled and embossed for maximum visual impact. The final touch is a colour-matched gold grosgrain ribbon which allows the user to pull back the front panel and smoothly rotate the pack open.

Inside, the main compartment is lined with satin gold paper, visible from the front and creating a border effect around the front panel when closed. Upon opening the pack, the bottle compartment is revealed. Modelled after the Glenfiddich “tround” is the black triangular base fitment where the whisky sits. Another fitment holds the top, ensuring its safety during transit.

The final detail is a backdrop lined with the same satin gold paper that covers the interior of the main compartment. This backdrop, again inspired by the iconic Glenfiddich shape, features tapering triangular lines which create the effect of the bottle being lit from behind.
