This packaging talks about a man who was my client’s grandfather. His nickname was Vantza, and he was a composer who loved barbecues and vodka. He also did the second world war. All the graphics and style are intended to communicate this storytelling.

The product is actually a smocked vodka, so smoke is actually one of the main image decorating the packaging, as well as music and elements to produce vodka.

Black paper and silver foil stamping were suggested by the client for this design.

What’s Unique?
Black paper is not the most common color for vodka, but the most challenging to me was making the dieline for the neck from the very start. I didn’t have any template for this part of the packaging. The neck is a bit conical, so I did lots of tryings until finding the perfect shape. Using the martele paper for the neck was challenging as well, I had to try for several days with different temperatures, to make sure it wouldn’t release from this narrow part of the bottle.

The design has several details to highlight the story, including a musical composition visible on the bottom, or the bar code with alembic shape.
