AfroFuturism is the reimagining of a future filled with arts, science and technology seen through a black lens. The term was conceived a quarter-century ago by white author Mark Dery in his essay “Black to the Future,” which looks at speculative fiction within the African diaspora. These cards feature a completely custom design in a typical Afro cultured style which can be described as minimal, modern, graphic, delightful and just plain African. The design of this deck was so each card has its own presence and personality, making them ideal pieces of artwork that can stand on their own

What’s Unique?
The design of this deck was so each card has its own presence and personality, making them ideal pieces of artwork that can stand on their own. This was further established with the custom typeface designed specifically for the cards. While the suits remain the same the symbols were also designed strategically to represent futurism. This is the first of its kind which sheds light on Afro Futurism.
