It is a redesign concept for non-alcoholic beer “Baltika”. The original drink is produced and widely popular on the Russian market, and existing design inherits the most distinctive features of the main alcoholic series: symmetrical static composition with coat of arms, small inscriptions and many fine details. It is also a plain thing without any special flavor except beer itself.

I created a concept for a new non-alcoholic line with different flavors (I made three — with lemon, orange, and lime as an example, but this design could be easily adapted for more flavors) that differs completely from traditional Baltika design to refresh it and make it more discernible for customers.

What’s Unique?
“Baltika” usually uses symmetrical static composition and no photorealistic images on all their products. I wanted to create a version of their packaging with more dynamics and clarity and to present a new flavored type of their drinks, so I kept only the Baltika logo and changed everything else: used diagonal composition for more dynamics and photos for easier discernibility of flavors, left much space on top and chose a simple non-serif type. I also made a typographic composition not only a service part with information but a significant component of this can design at large. I believe that this version of design might be more visible and stand out on the shelf among the beer cans with more traditional symmetrical designs overburdened with details and monograms.
