The challenge with this packaging design project was to keep the print to minimal ink usage to make it as eco-friendly as possible. It was also to make it unique and different from all the competition in the bamboo cotton bud product market as there is a lot of saturation there with similar ideas to the design.

We were able to use a combination the product itself (ear buds) with a growing bamboo forest. We were able to decrease the usage of ink by outlining many of our elements. Adding many little details and touches, such as a panda hanging onto the bud, crossing the bridge in a surrealistic setting of a bamboo bud forest, or bamboo coming out of the barcode, lets the product stand out which allowed Alyn to have a solid brand voice putting it amongst the top sellers in the UK.

What’s Unique?
The use of outlines to make the packaging as eco-friendly as possible to save ink is quite a unique solution. Additional, surrealistic concepts such as a cotton bud bamboo forest as well as bamboo cotton buds with small details like a friendly panda in the background or bamboo coming out of the barcode makes the ideas also one of a kind in the product category.
