“Proyecto Gritos”

Joy and sadness are together in humanity, this shapes the Latin American being from his ancestors. Beyond a genetic mixture, memory brings the history tattooed on all the scars of the slave bodies. This mixture in itself contains a diversity of sounds that like a multicolored painting, represented from the wide South America to the narrowness of the isthmus that connects the Abya Yala in all its integrity.

The screams are emitted from pain and joy alike, with different intensities and with multiple voices that come from the surviving cosmogonies, the reborn ones and those that make their way gently or violently.

The music in this album seeks to meet that pain that germinates into possible joys and juxtaposed cultural spaces, an anthropophagous encounter that digests itself, regenerates itself and is reborn.

The packaging design tries to emulate this screams as a representational image, there is only black and white in human history, this is a fact that helps to understand de difference between the different screams on the music of the costa rican musician Felipe Solis, put in together images as a metaphorical frontier in the design.

What’s Unique?
This packaging is designed as optical illusion, using Scanimation process that combines the “persistence of vision” principle with a striped acetate overlay to give the illusion of movement. To accomplish this animation effect in the cover, it was needed 6 images.
