In my design research class during my second year at Pratt Institute, we were tasked with creating an independent project to exercise our abilities doing in-depth research in order to give our designs the context that leads to great concepts. For my project, I challenged myself by creating an entire branding and visual identity for a male contraception company that offers self-identifying men broader options for birth control.

A recurring theme in my design work revolves around social liberation to connect and inspire camaraderie within young communities, which is why I was interested in doing the project over the male birth control pill as it could offer a more flexible option for men while also reinforcing two important facts: that men and women are both responsible for contraception, and that men could take a more active and satisfying role in their reproductive health. I wanted this branding project to create an open conversation for men ages 18-35 when it came to being proactive with their sexual and reproductive health.

THINK contraception aims to normalize the role of men taking further action with their sexual health: Think health, comfort, pleasure, and contraception.

What’s Unique?
A gender-neutral approach to packaging design, challenging the “color stigma” around branding products targeted toward men.
