There are 12 regions in Georgia. Depending on the local characteristics of culture and way of life, dialectal differences are determined by ethnographic groups of Georgians. Some of them are Kartlians, Kakhetians, Tushins, Pshavs, Khevsurs, Imeretins, Rachinians, Svans, Megrels, Lazy, Adzharians, Gurians. And each of this group has its own features.

In the wine list “AKAURI” we would like to introduce you to some interesting Georgian characters.

IMERETIANS – They mainly live in the historical region of Imereti, western Georgia. Honor their great history. Proud and independent. Beautiful and stately. Hospitable and sweet-spoken.

GURIANS – They mainly live in the territory of the Gurian region of Georgia. The Gurians are intelligent, quick in speech, movement and in deeds, straightforward. They like to come up with rhymes, jokes.

MEGRELIANS – They mainly live in the historical region of Megrelia in western Georgia. Megrelians respect and honor the laws of their ancestors. They are very musical and dance beautifully, they sing. Enterprising and hardworking.

AJARIANS – They mainly live in the historical region of Adjara in southwestern Georgia. Adzharians are surprisingly hospitable. The first toast is always the same “For God and the World.” They dance and sing magnificently.

SVANS – Mostly they live in the historical region of Svaneti of northwestern Georgia. Brave and courageous. Freedom-loving and independent. But they are surprisingly polite and very hospitable.
