Misal pav is a very popular dish from Maharashtra from western India. It consists of a fried mixture of crisps, nuts along with a hot curry, stir-fried potatoes, and sprouted beans, garnished with onion and lemon. It is usually eaten with bread slices or buns.

Bedekar misal a.k.a. ‘Bedekar Tea Stall’ is the most famous misal joint in Pune city from the region and is visited by every foodie from the city and even international tourists. Established in 1948, they built their brand because of their unique curry and have been people’s favorites ever since.

As many customers prefer takeaway, they usually carry parcels having a couple of separate plastic bags, and some outlets even request the customers to get their own big containers to carry the hot curry.
The proposed packaging idea from my project encloses all the parts of the dish in a box that is easy to carry in a bag, sack, scooter seat storage for anyone, and not just for a food delivery employee. The curry container is leak-proof and can sustain minor jerks while the package is being carried.

What’s Unique?
The packaging can be readily used as a plate! All you need to do is pull out a cello-tape. The curry box doesn’t need any lid for sealing it, eliminating the need for any additional plastic part. The packaging is more than 80% biodegradable by weight. The box is suitable for both, bread slices and buns and can accommodate an extra pair of either. The package or parts of it like the large and smaller aluminum foil bowls can also be used for packaging other items from menu.
