Cellers Espolla are a small winery in the Alt Empordà, Catalonia (Spain), that produce sweet wines. We were asked to create the label concept and design for two of their finest sweet wines, the Moscatell and the Granatxa.

The creative concept is based on the area’s fertile soil, the strong characteristic Alt Empordà wind and the bordering waters of the Mediterranean Sea, which provides the perfect humidity level for the production of these extraordinary sweet wines.

For this purpose, a series of hand drawn illustrations portraying the strength and character of this wine producing land were created.

The result is a complete consolidation of the final image/product, transmitting a clear, sobre and attractive image representing the essence of both product and area.

Success was guaranteed, as sales of these two wines rose considerably.
