THE BRAND [& THE PROJECT BEHIND]
VOLTA, a local yet aspiring coffee brand, wanted to exhibit its appreciation to their clientele while also lifting their -unstable due to the current health circumstances- psychology up, by offering them a redesigned, full of hope and a bit of funkiness, packaging for their beverages.

Our call, therefore, was to create something unique -in order to stand out from the vast competition of the specific market- which at the same time, would be functional and relatable to the intended audience.

We achieved this balance through a clear, dynamic, and recognizable composition that took into account both the brand’s aim along with our general philosophy which emphasizes minimal aesthetic and avoids chattery illustrations at all costs.

THE DESIGN [& THE THOUGHT PROCESS BEHIND]
We were looking for those images that would speak volumes about Christmas; figures to which everyone could relate. And what else consists the epitome of Joy & Christmas, if not Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and snow!!!?

The foundations for our design: a more “back-to-the-basics” approach, hence the clean-cut trigonometric elements. Simple shapes with straight and fresh lines, embedded into a timeless yet aggressive approach. The result brought to the surface three different designs, one for each cup: a three-pieces, triangled Santa Claus, a two-rounded-pieces snowman, and a, unevenly-cut, Christmas tree. All blended into one joyful formation through a bold red environment.

The entire composition consists of a dialogue between beautiful illustrations & minimal, strict, and bold lettering, attempting to convey the most hopeful message in the world….that Christmas is coming…regardless!
