“Lulu” are fruity gummies for kids. My job was to come up with idea of series of packagings for snacks. Whole brand and concept are created by me. It all started with my love to using packaging’s characteristics in design and a thought of how I can base my project on these transparent windows often appearing on gummies packs, showing what is inside. So I designed four illustrations depicting children dressed as a traveller, an astronaut, a pilot and a diver.

In each picture the most important element is transparent. It referes to kids’ imagination, to how they create completely new world in they minds while playing. I wanted my series to be vivid and catching child’s eye but not to be as overwhelming with all the colours and patterns as most of packagings for kiddie products are. That’s why I took a put on monochromatic illustrations. The colours I picked are supposed to convey sweetness of gummies and are matched to different flavours of candy. I believe my project looks yummy and no child could miss it on market’s shelves.

What’s Unique?
I think that using limited colour palette is quite unique in this type of projects. Also the use of transparency of packaging is diferent from what we usually see in markets.
