The main objective of the project was to research about an existing product in the market with packaging issues which cause inconvenience to the consumers and to understand the reason behind the hassles in package design. After thorough study, the motive was to recreate a new design to make it consumer friendly.

The product chosen by me was on package redesigning of Pringles. Since the can is too narrow in width, it is difficult to grab chips from the lower end of the can. It does mean that you can’t reach into the can to pull out chips. This causes a lot of inconvenience to the consumers as they must turn it over to empty the can to access the rest of the chips, making the can itself useless.

To recreate an efficient packaging, the main challenge for me was for the can to be designed in such a way, that the consumers can access the chips in the lower end of the can without much effort. With several aspects in mind I started exploring various designs to meet the expected outcome.

What’s Unique?
The advantages of the new design were, that the chips were easy to access as the can itself can slide down using a clipping mechanism, once the upper half portion of the can was consumed. The design was also built using 100% recycled materials so that there was no environmental impact caused by the product.
