In 2017, the idea was born in János Szekretar the founder and head of viticulture at Szeleshát, that the time had come to start something new. He spent more than 20 years cultivating and building the Szeleshát estate, where he managed to create a 57-hectare single-vineyard over the years, but this vast area grew over it, requiring mechanized work and a huge factory. The time has come to return to the basics: the 133-year-old press house, the purchase of which once launched the viticulture business, hand-crafted viticulture, direct contact with the vines and a vineyard of controllable size. János Szekretár Jr., executive, wholeheartedly supported his father’s idea, he has always wanted to make wines that reflect his excellent taste, of which he is truly proud.
