For some, coffee is not simply a beverage—it is a tool. Sophie London has developed a concept called Brew 22 for a line of cold-brew coffee that doesn’t mess around. A former barista herself, she openly admits her love for all things caffeinated. “Quite simply, I am a non-functioning human without it,” she says. ” I brought my love for cold-brew to MassArt’s working studio to share, and it was widely appreciated and consumed. As my studio number was #22, Brew 22 seemed like a fitting name for the brand.” To brand coffee as a tool, London implemented stencil typography, strong lines, and sharply contrasting colors to accentuate this industrial look-and-feel. In addition to the two bottle sizes offered, she also designed a brew-it-yourself kit for consumers to make Brew 22 in their own home.

What’s Unique?
This packaging design is special because it uses the concept of being an industrial tool, and translates it seamlessly into the world of food and beverage packaging. Taking inspiration from a separate category of consumer goods and applying it effectively makes this project unique and eye-catching.
