“Halmoni kimchi” (or in other words “granny kimchi”), the jar of tradition, is a traditional fermented Korean side dish made by granny to share to the world. Kimchi is made with vegetables and variety of seasonings and there are hundred of types of kimchi. It is loved by the Koreans and they eat them every day and nearly every single meal.

In Korea, each house would make enormous amount of kimchi around late autumn to prepare for the winter. However, since it is difficult for a woman to make that enormous amount, all the women in the village or neighborhood would take turns to go around houses to help each other. This would happen every year, making it so obvious to say that grannies are the best in making kimchi.

However, as people started to pursue convenience over home-made foods, they started to buy kimchi from the stores. In addition to that, the generations today does not know how kimchi is made and would yearn for the taste of their grandmother’s kimchi. The brand “Halmoni Kimchi” focused in capturing all the touches of our grandmothers’ love and warmth into a jar to let people recall back their memories. Moreover, it is healthy, hygienically made, crunchy, fresh, has a taste of the generation, and is generous in the quantity.
