The last day of January will be the first day of the Oriental New Year. Traditions have been mixed up in Ukraine when celebrating New Year and Christmas: people are expecting Slavic “Ded Moroz” (Grandfather Frost), Christian’s St. Nicolas and Oriental Horse. And certainly they are expecting gifts: symbolic and ingenious, pleasant and useful.
The year 2014 was preparing to meet a Blue Wooden Horse. Obviously, herds of all kinds will fly from the corporate presents. But branding is a combination of obvious and incredible, expected and unexpected. Therefore, we in POLARIS decided to present our partners with a Non-Blue Non-Wooden Non-Horse. And we presented sausages packed in a blue wooden chest.
Two natural dry sausages, like two wings (left one and right one), were packed with love, first in a wooden wrapping (serving as a cutting board too), and then in a chest made of natural wood. Our corporate blue color on the packaging habitually matches the winter night sky and New Year color trend. The Horse turned into a winged Pegasus – a constant source of inspiration. So we decided to share the creative power contained in Pegasus Wings (of which the sausages are made) with our partners.
And what the clients did? They ate them – and flew into the new 2014 with new powers, plans and hopes.

Launching a new coffee brand in today’s very competitive market is hugely challenging. You have to offer something truly unique, of the highest quality, along with great atmosphere.
You really have to stand out in a crowd.
London is a city deeply rooted in its traditions, history and architecture. Loyalties are formed in childhood and honored for a lifetime. So our task is not just to show the outstanding benefits of our product but to weave these assets into the larger culture and themes of London culture, combining the heritage of coffee drinks with the distinctive, one-of-a-kind pleasures of London House coffees.

Young women in Ukraine buy products for kids as they believe these products are the most natural. And they are absolutely right! Following this trend a series of cheese desserts made of natural cottage cheese and jams was launched.
We developed a unique character for each product – cute little animals with its own emotion and personality, pretty much the same as the product inside cardboard cups.

“Zemlya” is the eights album of Okean Elzy band recorded during 2012-2013. Yurko Gutsulyak created the album cover design and the image for the tour.
Svyatoslav Vakarchuk tells about the name of the album:
We worked in the studio on the territory of Dovzhenko Film Studios. If it is Dovzhenko* why not to call the album “Zemlya” (Earth).
Yurko Gutsulyak tells about design idea:
Within Ukrainian culture the symbol of the earth has special value. In Ukrainian language the word “Zemlya” means the earth, the ground, the land, the basis and the soil. For agricultural country the earth is the matter of importance. It is the pledge for life, prosperity and finally freedom. I decided there is no need to show the earth literally in design. This time it is shown like generously filled seeds that are traditional for Ukraine. These are rye, wheat, beetroot, flax, hollyhock, apple, etc. The seed is like a symbol of the preserved life that has accumulated all history and power to create the future. But only on the earth. There are 12 songs in the album and 12 types of seeds on the cover. Each song corresponds to particular seed. I chose seeds ideologically and visually while Svyatoslav Vakarchuk looked for emotional communication with songs. The brown color symbolizing the earth dominates in album design.

Winter is such a movable feast that starts with Christmas, then the New Year, after that St. Valentine and so on... Anyway, it's over. Why not recall how it started?
On the eve of 2013 POLARIS branding company was finalizing some large projects. The work was in full swing, so there was no time to think of holiday presents for clients.
Brand Chronicle corporate newspaper became a driver of the corporate gift idea. It features ads and announcements, branding news, outstanding quotes from the clients' briefs and even culinary recipes.
One newspaper resolved several problems. Additional «Y» turned the Brand Chronicle into the Brandy Chronicle. The newspaper headline became an exclusive hand-made label. The rest of the newspaper transformed into a bright gift wrapping and verbose postcard.
The creative approach to the material and time resources provided an effective result. POLARIS clients received our New Year wishes with an exclusive hand-labeled bottle of brandy, found out everything that we thought of them and remembered everything they had thought of us.
P.S. It was the first issue of The Brand Chronicle Newspaper.
